FIRST VISIT TO THE NAIL SHOP @ AVENUE K

 Assalamualaikum

So as some of you know that I am done with my degree and currently seeking for  a job (if you know any vacancy hit me up!)

I had some free time when I know I should be applying for jobs but tbh I'm still searching for my inner passion as I will be sticking to the job till the end of time. Well anyway recently, I went to Nail Parlor to get my nail buff durrrr its called manicure at Avenue K. We manage to book an appointment on the same day since our visit was on Monday Morning and the next slot available was at 3 PM for two people. It was my first time in my entire life since I never got it done before. TBH I have no interest in nail art or nail parlor what so ever. As a muslim, nail polish is waterproof hence my ablution wouldn't be valid which is one of the reason why I don't have the interest in getting it done.

Anyhow, My friend Norfa ( we have been texting ever since via Malaysian Lovatics group WhatsApp ) DEMI brought us together!!! ((as if anyone is wondering lol)) However, I'm no longer a big fan of Demi, the fan based kinda dries down not sure why but I know for a fact that I'm not as fanatic as I was before. I wouldn't say that I'm a fanatic to begin with as I didn't even go to her concert or purchase merchandise whatsoever but her songs were some of my hits. For example? Don't you forget, that's a nice song.

How did I feel at that time knowing that we will be going to the parlor?

EXCITED AND CURIOUS!!

EXCITED to see the result.

CURIOUS maybe I can do the steps at home.

 --------------------------------------

I want to explain the steps of getting my nails done and just a disclaimer this was not sponsor.

All opinions are honest review and please don't come attacking at me saying that I'm a try hard influencer wanna be. Worse syok sendiri. I just wanna share my experience.

Lets look into the step shall we..

First she ask me whether I want to cut or trim my nails and mind you if im gonna get my nails done I like it long so that it gives a better look. Not that I always keep my nails long it was just for the sake of this grooming. Then she shape the edges so that it looks more presentable. My cuticles were trim and cut. Next she buff the surface of my nails so that it is even and this step is a bit dusty wakakka. After this dusty procedure, I had my nails clean (read taik kuku). As my nail is clean, I had it shine with a buffer that has a lot smoother surface and will not give the dusty effect as it did from the step just now. Lastly, she apply a layer of oil which she claims that the shine would last up to 2 weeks for the hand while for pedicure the shine would last up to a month or two.

That my friends are from my vision and memories as I was partially asleep during the whole process. Man the kerusi urut was...lemme tell you for a person who doesn't have that device at home? I was well relax :)

Will update the before and after pictures later. :)

Thank you for reading and I will see you in my next post. c uuuuu...

update the shine actually last me up to two weeks.

*update the price for Manicure was RM45 if I'm not mistaken they have a combo for mani&padi RM80 or RM85. Go now its super worth!

Restoran Damsyik Empire (eid adha journey)

Assalamualaikum to my dear readers.

This is gonna be a food/ restoran review but before that lets chat!

Life is in a confusing state for me for now well due to the covid and as for me after degree crisis. If that is even a thing or am I just making things up to make me feel ok with whatever I'm doing now. (read nothing) I guess that is what you get when you never plan ur life and just go with the flow. I swear I thought I had my life figure out at 15 AND NOW WHAT?

Anyway we are not here to talk about that. Lets talk about the weather wait scratch that this isn't ur weather forecast channel. ermmm

How was ur eid adha? I hope it was splendid! Remember when we didn't manage to celebrate eid fitri this year which when I come to think about it again it is kind of a foreign memory not because it is fading as if it happened along time ago no, but because it kinda feel distance like it is somehow a memory that well lets just say we were idk kinda force to live in that situation. lets just stop there before I get any more depressing and start to speak gibberish that you guys cannot understand but yeah I hope you get the point and I hope im not the only one that felt like it was a strange memory.

So because we weren't able to go home to see our parents or grandma and grandad during eid fitri, the traffic was horrendous during the celebration week for eid adha I must say. Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia already warn us about the spike up number of cars on the road and they suggest certain period of time to travel. Yes plan your traveling hour is the best way to make up more time to spend with your family.

I wanna share my experience if you don't mind you may carry on reading, we went started our journey  the morning after eid adha prayers and if im not mistaken LLM already suggest us not to travel during those hours, but heck we got errands to do on Thursday hence we decided to travel on Friday. The journey wasn't the worse nor it was better but it was acceptable in some kind of way although by the time we entered highway Bukit Mahkota it was already jam. The cars were still moving tho.

As for the journey from JB to KL man...We had 9 hours of traveling time plus minus the eating and stopping at the RNR to pee which gives us 7 hours. It was unbearable, the cars were static on the road and I give up on helping to keep dad awake and just doze off most part of the journey. Are you guys a sleeper too?? We tried to follow jalan dalam idk exit Pedas Linggi? The journey which was supposed to be only around 3 hours and a half ended at LEKAS highway. This conclude us sitting in the car from 11 am to 8 pm and I pity dad asyik tekan minyak then break.

WHICH BRINGS US TO THE REVIEW

Please forgive me ya for the rambling above.. it been awhile since I last update anything so yeah.
Upon our drive trying to find the LEKAS exit we were hungry because we skip lunch due to traffic. Before that we stopped by at DR MUHAMMAD YUSOF TEH MASJID somewhere around Paroi if im not mistaken. It was 5 pm already and alhamdullillah the masjid was open for prayers and masyallah everyone manage to obediently follow the SOP. After prayers around 6 pm we manage to find RESTORAN DAMSYIK EMPIRE mind you we were starving. It was a risk for us because I don't know if it is just our family pet peeves but we like to avoid unknown restoran when we are hungry like a wolf because one we don't know how long the service would take and two how good the food will be.

THE FOOD WAS GOSH HEAVEN NO REGRETS>

Have you tried the
MASHAWEY KAMBING? BECAUSE WEYH MASYALLAH IT IS DELICIOUS>
*will update the picture*

The Nasi Arab Kambing was I must say behse2 je. Not the best. I have tried other restoran that serve better taste. Am I being harsh here? Well let me rephrase the kambing was nice and juicy but the rice was too ordinary. It is quite contradicting because if im not mistaken they were once known for their nasi arab. Correct me if im wrong.

SERVING WISE

On a side note the medium size Nasi Arab Kambing was not to big nor to small. The waiter said it is recommended for two people with small appetite. Our family? doesn't fancy rice that much. We were hoping they have bread actually but in the menu there were non. So by the time we finish eating the rice we couldn't move on from the MASHAWEY KAMBING and order another one. It was cheeky of us since we already order fries which means the original order was supposed to be one medium nasi arab one mashawey and fries because well the fries just an addition but like I said no regrets ordering another one.

There was a family of three sitting in front of us, parents and a toddler. Cant help but to check on what they had and we saw two serving of the medium nasi arab not sure kambing or ayam but the hubby manage to finish the food where else the mom had to bring some home. So yeah that's about it the serving wise for the nasi arab.

AS FOR THE PARKING

Since it was just right next to the road you must have think it will be a hustle to find a parking spot. Im not sure if it was still early or because PKP nobody eats out that much now but it was alhamdulillah easy for us to find a parking space. I read somewhere that the parking space used to have charges? Im not sure but we parked for free.

THE AMBIENCE

Ok not trying to be a show off but alhamdulillah I mange to do my umrah this year and it was before this wabak fallen upon us, and alhamdulillah I get to makan dulang at Taif, a city is it? not sure.
So there were a few just normal sitting with tables and chairs out side, but there were also two eating space where you can sit bersila or on the floor comfortable and that my friend reminds me of Taif. The decoration was um minimal but they have those Turkish lamps dangling man I miss Turkey. I also read somewhere that there was a Surau there but im not sure since well u know these days it not advisable to do prayers in public although im sure they must hv disinfect it to comply with the SOP.

PRICE POINT YA

Standard for Arab cuisine??? We had one Nasi Arab Kambing (medium) and two MASHAWEY KAMBING and French frice. As for the drinks we order chai and one Barbican sparkling drink. (raspberry) All for RM90 for a family of 4. Standard right?

Let me know if I missed anything. Thank you for the great food.
Oh and thank you for reading.

Goodnight dearies, till then I shall see you in my next entry.

With love,
Ara
